January Events

Happy New Year everyone!
Seasons greetings and happy holidays to all. As we venture into 2026, we hope you’ll join us for an event or two. Did you know that January is National Hot Tea Month? Yes, there are some pretty random holidays out there… We decided to get on board with this one, and we’re excited to announce that we’re going to be offering patrons free tea for the month of January. Tea lovers rejoice! Fun tea fact for you: “Chai” is the Hindi word for “tea.” I guess I should stop saying Chai tea… 🙃
Following suit with tea month, our Teen Service Club is excited to launch a winter wellness warming zone in our lobby area by the side entrance. We are seeking donations of NEW gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, warm socks, Chapstick, hand warmers, emergency Mylar survival blankets (space blankets), and yes tea, as well as hot chocolate. Teen Service Club will be setting our warming zone up on January 15th, and we are accepting donations now.
A big thank you to all that donated to our Windham County Humane Society food & toy drive as well as our Deerfield Valley Food Drive. We collected over 200 items for these two amazing causes. We thank you all so much for showing such kindness to neighbors in our community!
We always welcome feedback and suggestions for programming inspiration, and recently, some patrons expressed interest in connecting with other folks in the area who are homeschooling or thinking of homeschooling. So mark your calendars on January 12th for a Homeschool Meet & Greet. Details are on the flyer below. Please join us if you’re interested; all families are welcome.
Warm wishes to you all, and Happy 2026!!
See you soon,
~ Pettee Staff
